There’s No Such Thing As A Fake Woman

This is me the other day, chillin’ in my front yard. The Leanzy you all know:

This is me right now, chillin’ in my room. The Leanzy you all know, just without any makeup. NONE AT ALL:

Do I think I need makeup? No. But am I going to go get dinner without makeup on? No. Why is that? Because I like makeup. Plain and simple. I am a girly girl who likes to dress up, wear makeup, and have big hair. Society has changed a lot in what they define as “beautiful.” I am now considered a “fake woman.” You might hear that term be used a lot with Victoria’s Secret models, actresses, etc. Because here’s societies characteristics of a real woman: Little to no makeup, content with their body, doesn’t feel the need to dress up to impress people they don’t know, and would prefer to stay in than go out at night. Here’s societies characteristics of a fake woman: too much makeup, too skinny, dresses up for no reason, and would rather go out at night than stay in. But wait.. I wear a lot of makeup, I just lost 15 pounds, I dress up almost everyday and I do like going out occasionally.. Does that make me fake? Well, I’m touching my arm right now and it’s there. My dog is staring at me, begging for food, so obviously I exist. I’m real! Woohoo! And I’m sure that if you go to a Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, you will realize that those models aren’t holograms, they’re all real women. So here’s what I think about Fake vs. Real Women:

1. I get so annoyed when I hear other women moan and groan about how long it must take me to get ready in the morning. Did you have to wake up an hour early this morning and put my makeup on for me? No. I did. So please tell me how this is affecting your life in any way? Exactly. It doesn’t.

2. You don’t need to be content with your body if you’re really not. The people writing articles about that are just lazy human beings. When I was a lot heavier, I was still completely confident with my body, I even wore two pieces to the beach! But that doesn’t mean I didn’t see the need for me to lose weight. So I started eating a little less and started going to the gym a little more. Viola! The weight went away and I will confess that I am a lot happier with my body now. Like I said, love your body! But if you feel the need to change, do it!

3.  You want to know what really picks my mood up? Wearing a brand new dress with some brand new heels. I’m sure 99.9% of women will agree with this. Don’t worry, that doesn’t make you or me shallow. We can’t help it if we like to look good! And it’s better to wear it than let it collect dust in your closet. So dress up if it makes you happy. And if you’re happier wearing sweats and a t-shirt, then go right on ahead!

4. Photoshop was not meant to be taken personally. When you see Lady Gaga in a Versace ad, it means Versace is trying to sell the purse she’s holding. And it’s hard for people to focus on the purse if she has a huge zit on her forehead. As someone who went to an art school, I realized that Photoshop is an art. And it is also a way certain people make a living. So banning it, like people say they want to do, might be too extreme. And to be honest, if I was on the front page of a magazine and I just ate a double cheeseburger beforehand, I would beg that they Photoshop my bloated stomach! It’s not like they’re Photoshopping paparazzi photos, that would be bad.

5. If you can’t admire another beautiful woman without feeling angry, you might be insecure. Every week I see a new article about women getting angry at models. As an ex-pageant girl I can tell you right now that you don’t get a body like that through starving yourself. You have to eat right and work out like it’s your job. Why did I quit pageants? Because I don’t like eating right all the time. Because even though I do it, I hate working out. I wasn’t motivated enough to double my workout schedule or get rid of all my carbs. But when I do see a beautiful, fit model, I don’t feel angry or jealous or upset. I applaud them for their hard work and dedication. And even if you wanted to look like them, that’s impossible, because no two women were built the same. So be the best that YOU can be. If you are truly happy with yourself, a model isn’t going to make you feel inferior.

What I’m basically trying to say is that if you are unhappy with your appearance, or your body, or anything else in life, don’t be afraid of change. And don’t judge the women who take extra time out of their day to make themselves happy and confident. There is no such thing as a fake woman. We are all living, human beings. We are real. Beautiful women are confident. And whoever they are on the inside isn’t going to change, no matter how much makeup they put on.

It’s Okay To Look Pregnant

Am I the only one who feels like the bigger Kim Kardashian’s baby bump gets, the tighter her clothes get? I was a bit disturbed by this so I called on my bestie and fashion guru, Gabriella (Gaby) Lubaba from LaceAndTones.com to tell me what she thinks of this topic. Watch our video to see why we think it’s okay to look pregnant and who we think are Hollywood’s Fashion hits and misses.

I might sound crazy but I am excited to one day be pregnant  (and I mean like 10 years from now). How cool would it be to be able to eat whatever you want, whenever you want and you never have to worry if that dress makes you look fat? I would work that pregnant belly of mine! However, I don’t think Kim Kardashian is doing it the right way. I feel like the baby is suffocating in those tight mini skirts. Let the child breathe! And no, you don’t look cool with your booty shorts and pregnant belly. Embrace your pregnancy and wear comfortable(cute) clothes!

Screen Shot 2013-05-06 at 5.32.22 PMDon’t forget about Kim’s little sister’s Kendall and Kylie Jenner. While vacationing in Greece the teens weren’t afraid to show off their bodies in their little bikini’s. Hey, there’s nothing wrong with your bathing suits, but if my mom ever caught me at 15 years old posing like that, I would have been sent home and I would never see the world again. What do you guys think? Too inappropriate or am I trippin?

Screen Shot 2013-05-06 at 7.06.10 PMOne of my favorite stars right now is Jennifer Lawrence. She’s hot, talented, and has an Oscar at the age of 22. However, I want to see more pizazz from her! She hasn’t worn anything that has actually wowed me. As Gaby said, while the Dior dress she wore at the Oscar’s was gorgeous, it didn’t quite suit her. C’mon Jennifer! I’m telling you this because I love you and I’m waiting for that one dress that will finally make me proud.

Screen Shot 2013-05-06 at 7.07.36 PMWho would have thought that Bridget from Sisterhood of the Travling Pants was going to turn into the hot Blake Lively in the future? She is definitely my style icon right now.. I love how she is sexy yet classy at the same time. I guess all that time she spent on Gossip Girl paid off when it comes to her style. There is one thing, howver that I really really don’t like about her.. She took Ryan Reynolds away from me 😥

Here’s this weeks Style Lessons:

  1. If you are pregnant, there are a lot of cute maternity clothes out there. When youre trying too hard too still look slim, it makes you look even bigger. Just embrace your body and your pregnancy and wear comfortable, good fitting clothes.
  2. You only get one first impression. So make it a good one. That doesn’t mean you have to look like youre going to a fashion show every day. Just look presentable.
  3. There’s a huge difference between looking sexy and looking trashy. Trashy is when 99.9 percent of your skin is exposed and you’re basically yelling out “hey look at me I’m desperate and need your attention” Sexy describes someone who is hot and confident and while you can still show a some skin, you should leave the rest to his imagination.
