Hey ya’ll! As a lot of you know, I have dealt with acne for a very long time. I thought that the more oily my skin was, the more I was going to break out. So I did everything I can to strip off all the oil on my face. A trip to the humid Philippines proved me wrong. The humidity in the Philippines caused my face to be FLAWLESS! Which made me realize i needed a lot more moisture in my face. I’ve completely changed up my night time skin care routine and I am currently writing this with only ONE pimple on my face, which says a lot for someone like me!
*WARNING: THIS IS NOT AN ORIGINS AD. IT JUST SEEMS LIKE ONE BECAUSE I AM IN LOVE WITH THEIR PRODUCTS AND THEY WORK FOR ME*
After removing my makeup with my Makeup Eraser, I use the Origins A Perfect World cleanser. If you have dry or acne prone skin, this is a great gentle cleanser. I have combination skin and in the summer I get extra oily. During that time I will use Origins Checks and Balances instead- that one is perfect for combination skin!
I like to use toners that are alcohol free because my skin is sensitive. This is a really good, affordable toner if you have sensitive skin.
3. Face Oil
The next thing that I do is apply an oil all over my face. This has made my foundations apply a lot more smoothly and less cakey. The skin around my mouth is very dry and my foundation tends to cling in that area. I apply extra product in that area to make sure it is moisturized properly. It had also lessened my breakouts by A LOT- I MEAN IT. The one that I’m currently using is Josie Maran 100% Pure Argon Oil Light. I use about 5 drops.
4. Night Cream
This is the best night cream I have used so far! It is the Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins renewal cream. It is $43 but for a good quality night cream, that is not bad at all. Most night creams that actually work cost anywhere from $65-$200. So this is a steal people! I wake up with skin as smooth as a baby’s bottom 🙂
5. Eye Cream
Oops, another Origins product! But yes, I use Origins under my eyes too. I am currently using the GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream. I love how much more awake I look in the morning and the dark circles under my eyes and basically non existent right now. Gotta love a product that actually does what it’s supposed to!
6. Spot Treatment
Last but not least, I use the Kate Somerville Eradikate Acne Treatment wherever I have a break out. This is amazing if you have sensitive skin! It hasn’t bothered m skin so far. Also if you are tired of acne treatments drying out your skin, this is a great alternative. The one downside is you do have to go to sleep with pink dots on your face, which isn’t the most attractive! But hey, it’s a small price to pay for beautiful skin!
For my lips, I’m currently using good old fashioned Carmex. I prefer the click stick because it’s less messy to me. You can never go wrong with Carmex to help dry, chapped lips!
When the air is really dry, I like to use my Homedics Humidifier. Dry air can cause MAJOR breakouts and dry patches on your skin. A humidifier is a great way to add moisture in your room so you can have great skin all year round.
There you have it! This is what I do almost every night and my skin is 90% better than it was 2 years ago. If you have any questions, let me know!
